During the COVID lockdown, I'm reading this great book to build my design chops.

It got me thinking: alignment is a pretty important thing.

  • In your words and deeds: to build trust. Trust with others, yes. But much more importantly, to build trust with yourself.

  • In your physical posture: to breathe well and give yourself energy. Holy moly, you'd be amazed at what interventions in alignment can do for your energy. Think 6 shots of espresso, without all the negative externalities.

  • In your pamphlet, ad, article, etc.: to lend credibility, make your message easier to read, make your message more enjoyable to view, and to better help get your message across.

  • In your organizational goals and actions: to ensure you fulfill on the promise you've made to the people who rely on your products or services.

  • In your dining table: so an errant pot roast doesn’t bring the house down during family dinner. Oh, the humanity.
