"This league is so damn good at marketing," I thought to myself as I read the push notification.

"Free League Pass Preview: Watch the defending champion Warriors roll into Denver to take on the #1 Nuggets."

The NBA gets it: identify the best game of the season to this point, and make THAT the free one. Don't make people work harder to get your product. Make it easier to get, and give them exactly what they want right from the start. Get them hooked, get them in.

You're grandpa has been telling you to "put your best foot forward" since you were five. And yet misguided companies continue to fail to honor this good advice. And they fail.

It's why Amazon is king of the world right now.

So the NBA is ready to give the people what they want (s/o Jalen Rose and the Fab 5): the best game of the season to this point.

But then... it turned out to be a crap game.

Yea, it was over in the first quarter.

The Warriors, you see, had other plans.

This was their chance to show everyone who was still out there. Out there waiting. Just biding their time, getting through the season, until the season really started. Their season, that is. The postseason.

Take a look at this madness:

Great grandfathers are going to be telling their great nephews about this Warriors team.

Their dedication to the craft, their dedication to bringing joy and spontaneity every day.

Combining an unparalleled work ethic with the discipline to bring joy to their work every day. Their discipline is so often overlooked, dwarfed by their penchant to annihilate all-time records.

What a shining example of principles this team is. If you want to learn to be successful, just read about how these guys handle their everyday lives - from the coach Steve Kerr and his assistants on down to the 12th man. Good gravy.

So yea: the NBA continues to have a marketing Midas touch. And the Warriors remain golden. That's the scoop from Denver last night.
